Since I became pregnant I have been trying really hard to develop healthy habits for myself. I have really wanted to make sure that I do what I can so that my baby can grow healthy, and to keep myself healthy throughout this pregnancy.
In January I gave up junk food, which is at times hard, but I just tell myself that the baby does not need that kind of stuff, and neither do I. I have been trying to make sure I eat more fruits and vegetables, and other healthier snacks. My favorite treat these days are yogurt parfaits, yogurt and fruit, what could be better. Brian often treats me to these after my doctor visits each month.
The funny thing about this no junk food is that tomorrow I will be going to have the test for Gestational Diabetes. Those of you who don't know what that is, a nurse will give me a drink that is very sweet(I've been told that it is even carbonated). The reason why this is so funny is I haven't had much sugar in the last five months, and I haven't had carbonation in years! The baby and I will probably have a very high sugar rush tomorrow!!!
I have also been trying to exercise more often during the pregnancy. I have been able to exercise on average 2 to 3 times a week since January, but I have been wanting to do better. Well, last week I made my goal...I exercised for at least 30 minutes every single day, Monday through Saturday!!! I never exercise on Sundays. I am now doing well at keeping it up, and have exercised yesterday and today. It feels so good to exercise, and to achieve a goal.
There are still things that I would like to do better, but I try to do one thing at a time. I am glad that this pregnancy has given me the motivation to do some of the things that I have wanted to do for a while. It's slow moving sometimes making new habits, but in the end it is so worth it!!!
oh man i remember that stuff, it is not very carbonated just a tiny bit.
